I have just reached my first five week milestone for the year. According to My Fitness Pal, if I had eaten and exercised the same way as I did on 3rd January every day for the last five weeks, I would have weighed 206.4lbs, or 14st and 10lbs. This would have been pretty amazing weight loss, a statement which tells you that I did not, in fact, eat and exercise the same way as I did on 3rd Jan every day for the last five weeks, and so do not, in fact, weight 14st and 10lbs. A Proper Start. No Resolution.

I’m finally, mostly, pretty much, back on the diet wagon.

I’ve been using My Fitness Pal for over a week, almost two, and I’ve lost a total of seven pounds since Christmas. This is a great success, and has happened mainly from reluctant food control more than exercise, as I’ve not had the opportunities to get to the gym that I thought I would.

Emergency Start

                I have started dieting again. That broken record is hopefully not going to be played for a while as I’ll keep dieting instead of stopping and starting like an old car with bad oil and no fuel. I’ve signed up at a gym – 24 hour, literally across the road from me – and have set myself a target of going three times a week, preferably on mornings before work. The first week I managed it and lost 2lbs. last week I only went twice, but with a good start to this week with a trip on Monday morning I’m feeling good about it.

Working Out Your Diet on Someone’s Big Day

My cousin got married very recently, and of course I went to the wedding. First and foremost, congratulations to you and Tom, Hannah, and I hope you enjoy your honeymoon! I know you read my blog (thanks!) so I thought I’d add an extra set of well wishes here for you both! Apart from my [AFOREMENTIONED ISSUES WITH SUITS] the wedding did present me with one other spike of personal trauma, albeit not on the scale of what the bride and groom felt – weddings involve feasts, and feasts involve kissing your diet goodbye!

Collecting The Wrong Kind of Pounds.

I think I’m eating too much. This may seem an obvious conclusion, but the important implication here is that I also think it might be due to another factor. Admittedly it’s not that much of a complicated conclusion; I’m not getting enough exercise. But surely they are one and the same? Isn’t that what I’ve been talking about for so long on this somewhat-frequented blog?

Psycosomatic Dieting

This week I’ve committed to breakfasting before I get to work, or by 830 on days I’m not working. After reading an article about nutrition and balanced diets in the Metro (#greatsources) I’m testing a theory it put forward. The assertion made by the diet expert interviewed (whose name I stupidly didn’t note down) was that a high protein breakfast was a better way to start the day than sugar and carbs.
